Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Tomato sauce (½ cup)
  • Fresh mozzarella (sliced or torn, about 200g)
  • Fresh basil leaves (a handful)
  • Olive oil (1-2 tbsp)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Salton Pizzadesso: Set your Pizzadesso to high heat for a few minutes, ensuring it reaches the perfect temperature for cooking pizza.
  2. Roll out the dough: On a floured surface, roll your pizza dough into a thin circle. Once completed transfer the dough off of the floured surface.
  3. Add the sauce: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly across the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Add the cheese: Scatter slices of fresh mozzarella evenly on top of the sauce.
  5. Bake the pizza: Carefully place the pizza in the preheated Pizzadesso and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add finishing touches: Once the pizza is cooked, remove it from the Pizzadesso. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  7. Optional: Add crushed red pepper flakes for a little extra kick!
